About

The metabolic phenotyping component of the Genomics and Energy Metabolism (GEM) Core offers offers technical support and expertise for measuring traits related to metabolism in mouse models of obesity and nutritionally relevant disease. With locations at both the Chapel Hill and Nutrition Research Institute (NRI) campuses, GEM Core: Metabolic Phenotyping provides access to state-of-the-art methods, equipment, and populations to support high quality and high throughput phenotyping of energy balance components in mice. The Core also provides advanced methods for the study of energy balance of live cells using Seahorse technology and O2K.

GEM Core: Metabolic Phenotyping also facilitates collaborations with the Animal Models Core and the Animal Studies Core at UNC.
