Service Description


Human skeletal muscle biopsy is obtained using the modified Bergstrom Technique. This percutaneous biopsy technique allows for collection of skeletal muscle tissue sample in a safe and highly effective manner from the Vastus Lateralis muscle. Local anesthesia is applied to diminish discomfort of the subject. Post procedure instructions are provided to the subject after the procedure. Tissue adhesive is applied at the incision site avoiding the need for follow up of the subject. Tissue sample are preserved under the specifications of the primary investigator and handed over to their staff for further processing.
